Both the cytoplasmic and mitochondrial forms are able to bind to the helix IV-loop D in the gamma domain of the 5S rRNA. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Mitochondrion. SIMILARITY: Belongs to the ribosomal protein L18P family.
