  ID: IL1R1_HUMAN
DESCRIPTION: RecName: Full=Interleukin-1 receptor type 1; Short=IL-1R-1; Short=IL-1RT-1; Short=IL-1RT1; AltName: Full=CD121 antigen-like family member A; AltName: Full=Interleukin-1 receptor alpha; Short=IL-1R-alpha; AltName: Full=Interleukin-1 receptor type I; AltName: Full=p80; AltName: CD_antigen=CD121a; Contains: RecName: Full=Interleukin-1 receptor type 1, membrane form; Short=mIL-1R1; Short=mIL-1RI; Contains: RecName: Full=Interleukin-1 receptor type 1, soluble form; Short=sIL-1R1; Short=sIL-1RI; Flags: Precursor;
FUNCTION: Receptor for IL1A, IL1B and IL1RN. After binding to interleukin-1 associates with the corecptor IL1RAP to form the high affinity interleukin-1 receptor complex which mediates interleukin-1-dependent activation of NF-kappa-B, MAPK and other pathways. Signaling involves the recruitment of adapter molecules such as TOLLIP, MYD88, and IRAK1 or IRAK2 via the respective TIR domains of the receptor/coreceptor subunits. Binds ligands with comparable affinity and binding of antagonist IL1RN prevents association with IL1RAP to form a signaling complex.
SUBUNIT: The interleukin-1 receptor complex is a heterodimer of IL1R1 and IL1RAP.
INTERACTION: Q9Y4K3:TRAF6; NbExp=2; IntAct=EBI-525905, EBI-359276;
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein. Cell membrane (Probable). Secreted.
PTM: A soluble form (sIL1R1) is probably produced by proteolytic cleavage at the cell surface (shedding).
SIMILARITY: Belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family.
SIMILARITY: Contains 3 Ig-like C2-type (immunoglobulin-like) domains.
SIMILARITY: Contains 1 TIR domain.

-  Orthologous Genes in Other Species
  Orthologies between human, mouse, and rat are computed by taking the best BLASTP hit, and filtering out non-syntenic hits. For more distant species reciprocal-best BLASTP hits are used. Note that the absence of an ortholog in the table below may reflect incomplete annotations in the other species rather than a true absence of the orthologous gene.
