SUBUNIT: Parallel homodimers formed between the membrane-bound and the cytosolic form, and also between 2 cytosolic forms (By similarity).
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass type II membrane protein. Note=Vesicle membrane protein anchored to the endoplasmic reticulum.
TISSUE SPECIFICITY: High levels in peripheral blood lymphocytes, testis and ovary, lower levels in spleen, thymus, prostate, small intestine and colon.
SIMILARITY: Belongs to the kinectin family.
