FUNCTION: Acts as a replication initiation factor that brings together the MCM2-7 helicase and the DNA polymerase alpha/primase complex in order to initiate DNA replication.
SUBUNIT: Interacts with the polymerase alpha catalytic subunit POLA1. Interacts with MCM10. Interacts with DNA2.
SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus, nucleoplasm (By similarity).
PTM: Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR.
SIMILARITY: Contains 1 HMG box DNA-binding domain.
